FAQ

These frequently asked questions address common concerns about mock oral preparation, case list review, and certifying exam strategy.

Who are the examiners for the ABOG mock oral exam?
All sessions are led by board-certified OB-GYN physicians with experience preparing candidates for the ABOG certifying (oral) exam. Faculty include a mix of senior physicians and recently board-certified clinicians with experience coaching candidates for oral boards.

What is the format of the ABOG mock oral exam?
This is a 60-minute ABOG-style mock oral exam with structured examiner questioning, followed by focused feedback on clinical reasoning, organization, communication, and oral board exam strategy.

Do I need to send my ABOG case list in advance?
Yes. Please email your ABOG case list to [email protected]
at least 24 hours before your session. Sessions may be structured around your submitted case list or use structured examiner-style cases upon request.
All materials must be fully de-identified in accordance with HIPAA and institutional privacy standards.

How do I schedule my ABOG mock oral exam after payment?
After payment, you’ll receive an email within 24 hours with a mock oral exam scheduling link and brief instructions.

Is BoardReady OBGYN affiliated with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)?
No. BoardReady OBGYN provides independent educational preparation for the ABOG certifying exam and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

Do you offer a Full Exam-Day Simulation with two examiners?
Yes. We offer a full Exam-Day Simulation with two board-certified OB-GYN examiners designed to simulate time pressure, pacing, and examiner interaction similar to oral board conditions.

What is the Expert Case List Review (1-Reviewer Panel)?
This service provides an examiner-style review of your ABOG case list by one board-certified OB-GYN faculty member.
The review focuses on case selection, balance, structure, and common oral board vulnerabilities, with written feedback designed to strengthen your defense strategy.
Includes review of up to 200 cases. This service includes written recommendations only and does not include a live mock oral session or a second independent review.
Candidates seeking the most comprehensive feedback may consider the 2-Reviewer Panel, which includes independently generated reviews that are merged into a single high-yield set of recommendations.

What is the Expert Case List Review (2-Reviewer Panel), and how is it structured? The Expert Case List Review (2-Reviewer Panel) is a comprehensive ABOG case list review conducted independently by two board-certified OB-GYN physicians. Each reviewer evaluates your case list separately, focusing on case selection, balance, organization, and defensibility, as well as identifying cases likely to attract examiner scrutiny. After completing their independent reviews, the faculty consolidate their findings into a single, high-yield set of recommendations with clear guidance on how to strengthen your case list and oral board defense strategy.

What is the Single Section Case List Review?
This service provides focused examiner-style feedback on one selected category of your ABOG case list (OB, GYN, or Office).
It includes review of up to 40 cases from the selected category, with targeted written recommendations to improve organization, defensibility, and oral board strategy.
If your section exceeds 40 cases, additional cases can be added during checkout ($75 per up to 20 additional cases).

What happens after I purchase a Case List Review?
After payment, you will receive an email within 24 hours with instructions for submitting your ABOG case list. Once received, your list will be reviewed by faculty and written feedback will be delivered electronically.
Timing and next steps will be outlined clearly in the follow-up email.

What if my case list exceeds the included case limits?
Full Case List Reviews include up to 200 cases.
Single Section Case List Reviews include up to 40 cases within one section (OB, GYN, or Office).
If your case list exceeds these limits, you can add Extra Cases during checkout at $75 per block of up to 20 additional cases (or part thereof).Examples (Full Case List Review):
• 201-220 cases → add 1 Extra Cases block
• 221-240 cases → add 2 blocks
Examples (Single Section Review):
• 41-60 cases → add 1 block
• 61-80 cases → add 2 blocks

How does this differ from standard case list reviews offered by other platforms?
Many case list review services focus primarily on checklist completion or feedback from a single reviewer. Our two-reviewer model is designed to more closely reflect the reasoning and scrutiny encountered during the oral board examination.
Two board-certified OB-GYN faculty independently evaluate your case list, focusing on case selection, balance, organization, and defensibility, as well as identifying cases likely to attract examiner questioning. Their independent assessments are then consolidated into a single, high-yield set of recommendations with practical guidance on how to strengthen your case list and prepare for common patterns of oral board questioning.
